Small painting "Lilies IV" 30x20 cm
When I was a little girl, after cleaning the house, my mother used to buy one big lily, which when it bloomed scented half the house. But she usually put the lilies in the bedroom - not for others, but for herself. When she did that, I thought she was the most feminine woman in the world, and I thought "that's what "big" women are like - beautiful and not shy about wanting something just for themselves".
A few months ago, I also started regularly putting lilies in vases at home and soon I couldn't resist the idea of painting these elegant flowers. And then I wondered - yes, but what would those paintings be about - about the Virgin Mary and the Annunciation scene (she is presented with a white lily as a message about her mission)? No, not my story. About Hera, who nursed the baby Hercules and the milk that flowed abundantly from her breasts became the Milky Way in the sky, and the drops that fell on the ground blossomed into white lilies. No, it's not about me right now either.
And then I realized. My story of white lilies is about femininity, which is taught by mom - because she is first of all a WOMAN. Mom is the first woman in every person's life, who gives the first mood - what are these divine, magical beings - women.🤍
